De uithaalblog... / The frogblog

Omg..... Wat een borduurcrisis heb ik de laatste tijd... Wordt er een beetje pissig van!!!...
Nou, daar komt ie.......
Een poosje geleden was ik met de bloemetjes borduurwerk bezig.... Zat flink in de trein om hem af te gaan maken....
Maar omdat daar dus allerlei steken in zaten die ik niet alledaags deed heb ik iets goed fout gedaan.
Op de foto zie je de boogjes aan de zijkanten.Boogjes met aan het einde franse knoopjes.. Nu, achteraf bekeken kon ik beter eerst de lange steekjes maken van de boogjes en DAARNA de knoopjes... Neeeee, ik met mijn logica deed een lange steek en direct het knoopje erna..... Probleem is dus, als het steekje te los zit en de knoop zit al vast, dan moet je het knoopje ook weer los zien te krijgen!!!! Foutje....Bedankt!!!!
Ik hoorde op Facebook ook al van die vragen van "Waarom wordt ie niet afgemaakt, nu je zo snel gaat?"........................................................................................................................................................Omdat ik er een gat in heb geknipt!!! Weeeeeheee, ken wel janken.... Ben er totaal gestresst van geraakt... Maar mijn schoonzus is een koele kikker wat dat betreft, dus het werk is nu bij haar, ze heeft garen en gaat proberen of ze er een nieuw stuk in kan weven..... Dat was blunder nummer 1.....

OMG!!! I am in a huge stitch crisis lately.. I am getting so upset about it!!!!
Here it comes.....
 A while ago I was working a lot on my flower stitchwork. It was on it's way to get finished.
But because there are several stitches here that I haven't made before, I did something terribly wrong.
On the picture you see the bows on the side. Bows, with french knots at the end.
When I hindsight this, it would have been way better to make the long stitches first, and THEN all the knots.
But nooooo, I had to do the long stitch and the knot right behind it.... Problem is, that when the long stitch is to loose and I have to frog it, I have to frog the french knot to.....!!!!!
BUMMER!!!!
I also got questions on Facebook....."Why aren't you finishing it, now it's going so fast?"......................................................................................................................................................... Because I cut a hole in it!!!! Weeeeeheeeeee, I can really cry about it..... I am totally, totally stressed....
But my sister in law really has a cool head. She keeps her act together and now it is over at her place, with thread in the same color as the cloth.....  And she will try to weave a few threads into the cloth...
That was misstep number 1...

Blunder nummer 2.... the Sacred Hour
Daar hoef ik niet zoveel over te zeggen....Daar heb ik het pas nog over gehad.

I don't have to say anything about that now.... I have been talking about that lately....

Blunder nummer 3 the Passing.
Ik ben begonnen aan "the Passing" van HAED.....
Ben er nog maar net mee bezig of ik kan alweer een behoorlijk stuk uithalen..... Ik had me eigen misteld met één gedeelte (rechts).. Die zit één steek te hoog en één steek te veel naar links...

ENGLISH:
Misstep number 2 the Passing.
I started "the Passing"  by HAED..... I just started it  and already I can frow quite a big part... I have made an error in counting (right part).. That part is one stitch to high and one stitch to much to the left...

Het begon me allemaal een beetje te veel te worden, al die fouten, want nog NOOIT in de 32 jaar dat ik borduur, is er zoveel fout gegaan..... Baal er verschrikkelijk van.. Ik zou haast gaan denken dat ik een beginneling ben....
Maar goed, om toch weer even de lol terug te krijgen, ben ik verder gegaan met de grote Chinees..... Die is groot en onhandig, maar wel lekker makkelijk.......... Zou ik denken......
Maar wat ziet mijn oog??? Een beschadigd stuk garen in de eerste letter.. Was kapot getrokken. Geen idee waaraan, maar de draad was dus echt kapot..... En wat doe je dan??? Maar weer een stuk uithalen.... Werd er een beetje sarcastisch van...... En één ding............. Een borduurwerk waarin met 3/6 draadje wordt gewerkt valt niet mee om uit te halen....
En dat was dus blunder nummer 4..... Beetje extreem, zo achter elkaar.

De letter is inmiddels weer hersteld en ga weer rustig verder prikken....Hopelijk gaat het nu weer goed.

ENGLISH:
It was all getting to much for me, all these mistakes, because never, in the 32 years that I'm stitching, so much went wrong....
I am getting fed up with it.... I tend to think that I've just started stitching....
Ah well, to get some fun in stitching back, I went on with the big Chinese...
It's big and hard to handle, but not difficult. Very easy even...... I would think................
But what does my eye see???? Some damaged piece of thread in the first letter.... Ripped in pieces.... I have no idea how that happened, but the thread was torn in two....
 So what do you do??? You start frogging a bit more..... I became in a very sarcastic mood.... And one thing.......  It is NOT easy to frog a stitchwork that is made with 3 strands....
So that was misstep number 4..... Very extreem, so in a very short while.

De letter has been restored and I will go on stitching for a while... Maybe it all goes well now.

Gelukkig is het peyote kralenwerk goed gegaan en wordt de Mona Lisa nu duidelijk zichtbaar.
ENGLISH:
Fortunatly the peyote beading went well and the Mona Lisa is no clearly visable.

Ook nog een beetje steentjes gelegd op het diamantschilderij.... Daar kan niet zo heel veel mee mis gaan. Hoewel je ook, net als borduren goed op de tekens moet letten, anders kun je ze weer van de kleeflaag verwijderen.

ENGLISH:
I have been laying down some blocks on the diamond painting.... Nothing ever really goes wrong with that.. However, it is just like stitching, you have to be aware of the signs, or else you can remove the blocks from the sticky layer.

Zo, dit waren mijn avonturen weer voor deze keer. Hopelijk volgende keer weer wat positiever haha.

ENGLISH:

Allerlaatste update van Sacred Hour. Boek voor nu gesloten./ Last and final update of Sacred Hour. Book is no closed for a while.

Ik haat me eigen!!!! Ik borduur nu al 32 jaar.... En ineens kan ik zelf blijkbaar geen beslissing meer nemen of ik iets met één of twee draadjes moet borduren en ineens moet ik zonodig luisteren naar de verkoopster in de winkel..... Dat had ik niet moeten doen... Ik had mijn eigen idee moeten volgen.... 18 count aida is 2 draadjes, niet 1....
Maar het grappige is dat ik de laatste jaren steeds met mezelf in conclaaf ben...
In de eerste lijnen had ik al gezien dat het nogal dun werd.
Maar omdat "ik dus al zoveel gedaan had" (maar een paar regels) wilde ik niet stoppen..
Nu heb ik 10 keer zoveel gedaan en stop ik alsnog!!!!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah, ik ben een idioot heheheheh

Ik wilde er dus nog wel een keer een extra patroon voor kopen zonder achtergrond om de engel en vrouw dan met 2/6 draadje te doen. Dat leek me ook erg mooi. Maar zoals ik het wilde hebben was het veel te moeilijk voor HAED om te maken... Niet te doen....

En dus...... TADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hier issie dan....

En nu gaat ie voorlopig terug in de kast, want ik heb er echt GEEN zin in om hem zo snel al over te maken.. Dat doe ik later wel.....  Ga eerst maar een ander maken.

ENGLISH:
I hate myself!!!! I have been stitching now for 32 years.... And all of a sudden I can NOT make my own decision about one or two threads and all of a sudden I listen to what the lady in the store says........ Shouldn't have done that.... Should have gone with my own ideas.... 18 count aïda is 2 threads NOT 1...
But funny thing is that in the last years I am always arguing with my self..... In the first lines I already saw it was a bit thin...... But because "I had done so much al ready" ( just a few lines), I didn't want to quite..... Now I have done 10 times that much.... I am quiting!!!!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I am an idiot heheheheh
I tried to buy another pattern of this to make the woman and angel in 2 threads... I thought that might have been a wonderful idea....background  with 1 thread and main  subject with 2 threads....But unfortunatly it is WAY to difficult for HAED to make that pattern without background THAT much.....
So........................................... TADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

And it's going on the shelf for a while, because I am nood in the mood to start it a second time so soon............ I will do that later..... I willl try to start something else.

Kasten en Kus week / Cabinets and Kiss week

Vorige week begonnen met Buster te patineren. Het is de eerste keer dat ik het doe, dus spannend.

Ik schijn het allemaal dus net weer anders te doen als dat hoort, maar dat ben ik.... Kan nooit iets normaal doen haha.

ENGLISH: 

Last week I started to work on Buster with Patina. It's the first time I am doing this, so very exciting for me.

I have the habit of doing everything different as it should, but that's me.... I never do anything as it should.

Als je foto 1 vergelijkt met deze tweede foto, dan zie je al een probleem optreden. Foto 1 is is de bodem van de kast. Dat heb ik als oefenstuk gebruikt. Daar zijn de strepen die ik achterlaat nog in mindere mate.

Maar van de week zei ik het al tegen mijn schoonzus... "Dat gaat fout aflopen, want als ik ergens aan begin, dan heb ik altijd de neiging om te gaan overdrijven" En dat zie je dus al in foto 2... Daar komen al weer meer en dikkere strepen bij. Ook is de ondergrond van de patina iets donkerder.

ENGLISH:

If you compare Pic.no 1 with this second Pic, then you can see a problem rising. Pic no 1 is the bottom of the cabinet.I used that part as a practice.

De lines I made there are at a lesser extent.

But last week I already said to my sister in law..."This is going the wrong way, because when I start something, I always have a tendency to exaggerate".. And that is what you see in pic. 2...

There are more and thicker lines. Also the ground color is darker.

Het is echt een heel spannend karwei om te doen en ben er echt gestresst over.

ENGLISH:

It is a very exciting job to do and am quite stressed about it.

Binnenkanten en zijkanten gedaan met antiek bruin. De boven en onderzijde worden gepatineerd in grijs/zwart. (Eerst even oefenen op een proefplankje, want dit wil ik op weer een andere manier patineren)

ENGLISH: Insides and sides are done with antique brown. The top and bottom are going to be patinate in grey/black. (I have to practice that first on a piece of wood, because I want to do that another way.

Ik begin hier toch wel een beetje op Picasso te lijken met dat geklieder met de strepen. Ook wordt nu de combinatie met de donkerbeige kleur een beetje anders... Omdat toch de ondergrond een andere tint heeft gekregen.. Maar ook de donkerbeige kleur gaat nog anders worden, dus ik denk wel dat dat goed komt... Het heeft wel iets aparts, maar zal voor menigeen toch wel wennen zijn.

ENGLISH:

I am starting to look a bit like Picasso with al this mess in stripes. Also the combination with the darkbeige color is a bit different... Because the ground color has been given another shade...

But also the darkbeige color is going to be different, so I think it will turn out fine... It has got something special, but for lots of people it will be getting used to.

Het ziet er eigenlijk uit als knoestig hout. Maar dan iets te veel knoesten haha. Zoals ik al zei... Ik heb de neiging om overijverig te worden.

ENGLISH:

It actually looks like knotty wood. But a bit to much knots haha..As I said... I have the tendency to exaggarate.

Nu is het zo, dat door die dikte waarin ik gepatineerd heb, het héél erg lang duurt voordat het droog is. Patina is normaal zo droog, omdat het ingewreven wordt, maar zoals ik nu heb gesmeten ermee kan het een week, tot anderhalve week duren voordat het droog is.

En dus ben ik maar even Kersenpitje aan het schuren geweest.

Maar aangezien dat niet in de kamer kon waar Buster stond te drogen, was ik genoodzaakt om naar buiten te gaan.~

ENGLISH:

Fact is, that due to the thickness I have patinated in, it will take a VERY long time to dry.

Normally patina is dry very fast, because it's been rubbed in.

But in the way I did it now, it will take about a week to one and a half week before it's dry.

So I started sanding "Cherrystone".

Ofcourse I couldn't do that in the same room as where Buster is drying, so I was forced to go outside.

Op de foto is op de achtergrond wel te zien wat voor weer het was buiten.

Maar geen probleem... Even bezig zijn en ik was zo warm

ENGLISH:

In this pic you can see on the background what kind of wheater it was.

But no problem... I just went on sanding and I was warm in no time.

Nu ben ik een X aantal dagen verder en ik kwam erachter dat Buster inmiddels was opgedroogd. En dus kon ik verder met Kersenpitje binnen schuren. 

ENGLISH:

I am now some days further and I came to the conclusion that Buster has dried.

So I could go on sanding Cherrystone inside.

Bovenkant is zo goed als glad.... Meer als glad zelfs... Heb er op diverse punten alle lak afgeschuurd i.p.v. alleen de vernislaag haha.

Ik ga eens kijken hoe hij er uit ziet als hij helemaal geschuurd is. Aangezien ik van oude afgetrapte zooi houd, ziet ie er misschien wel hartstikke gaaf uit en hoeft ie alleen maar gevernist te worden.... Zou me een boel verf schelen haha.  Maar dat zie ik dan wel als ik klaar ben met schuren.

ENGLISH: The top is as good as ready.... More than ready even.... At some points I have removed the paint also instead of only the varnish haha.

I am going to check how he looks when he's completely sanded.

I happen to love old, scuffed things, who knows, maybe he will look cool and only needs a varnish....

That would spare me a lot of paint haha.

But I guess I will have to see that when he's completely done.

En Buster staat netjes ingepakt

Buster is nicely wrapped up.

Valt het jullie op dat de muren kaal zijn in het kamertje waar ik bezig ben? Die zijn al een tijdje kaal. Ik wilde namelijk het kamertje laten behangen, maar ik moet echt voor alles sparen. Dus ik had een mooi behang gezien....Ben gaan sparen....... En nu is het behang uit de collectie!!! OMG, moet ik opnieuw gaan winkelen..

ENGLISH:

Dit you all notice that the walls are stripped, where I'm working? They are like that for a while. I wanted to have a new wallpaper there, but I really have to save money first before I can buy anything. So I did see a very nice wallpapaer.... I started saving.... And now the wallpaper is out of the collection!!!! OMG, now I have to go shopping again.

Ben er nu achter elkaar me bezig, dus hij gaat best hard.
